Injectors will be estimated 300-700 euros each wich is normal price for any carbrand. If only settings blown it's a copper ring for a few cents and if you're lucky 1 workour to replace. If settings blown and neglected long enough it can easily become 8 - 12 hours or even a new cylinder head. Very reliable.

Cracked pistons occur due to sustained overload of the pistons, combined with a design flaw in the first-generation pistons which were changed around 2012.

The engines seems more reliable than the D4D and one would more easily get 300k km out of the DTEQ than the D4D? What would the cost be to have an added filtration system? I mean changing say the factory filter and a UDF filter every service would cost you about R800 just for the filter! And the d4d have to be serviced every 10 000
