Gearbox not engaging reverse properly. Find the location of the MAF sensor in your Berlingo, unplug the electrical connectors, and remove the sensor from the housing. Spray at least 10 spurts of MAF cleaner onto the sensor and then let it air dry for an hour or until completely dry. Do not use cloth or cotton swabs to clean the sensor, as it can damage it.
Try listening for a loud click coming from the solenoid on the starter. If no click it's on the solenoid power side, if click, then it's the starter motor or the main power to this.
