Be also aware that in the moment you do any kind of work anywhere in Thailand you would need a work permit for which you wouldn't qualify with the setup you have.

Pattaya is not known as a shopping mecca by any means. And you really don't have the time t ogo there and back fro a shopping trip. Hotels in Pattaya will be cheaper than Bangkok. When you can get a place with air conditioning starting around 600 baht on up to 6000 baht there are lots of choices. Closer to Christmas and New Years Eve holidays are the most expensive time to be in Thailand - but cheap compared to your place.Pattaya is a favorite destination for me, and when I go, I always use Grab. (No drinking and driving) 2 weeks ago, a friend in Pattaya introduced me to BOLT. I Installed the app, and my first impression was, much cheaper compared to Grab. For Grab, I always paid around 210 THB for a short trip. BOLT calculates 45 THB.
